The Story
It’s an old story.
People have been following Jesus for the sake of others since the time of the apostles. Followers of Jesus have gathered and formed churches wherever they find themselves. C4SO continues this ancient tradition of forming churches, focusing on the West Coast of America.
Christianity has been at the center of Western culture for centuries. 1500 years ago Anglicanism was born and established a rich tradition worth preserving. But today we see a shift to an increasingly post-Christian culture in America, especially along the West Coast. While some may be wringing their hands at the increasing secularization, others are responding to the need for new expressions of church in the midst of cultural change.
On Mission in America
The Most Rev. Emmanuel M. Kolini of the Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda was inspired to create the Anglican Mission (TheAM) which serves as a missionary outreach of the Province of Rwanda. For decades the church in the West has been sending missionaries to places like Rwanda, but with this shift to an increasingly post-Christian culture in America, kingdom-minded communities like the Anglican Church of Rwanda are now sending missionaries our way.
- Our goal: 100 new churches in 10 years. 200 in 20.
- Our focus: starting new church plants in the West Coast of the United States.
- Our field: the unchurched, dechurched of this increasingly post-modern, post-Christian generation.
- Our practices: ancient tradition inspiring future followers of Jesus for the sake of others.
